With the Games being postponed from January 2022 to January 2024, the later part of 2022 was put into a holding pattern until the GOC recommenced engaging with their partners, sponsors, and suppliers in November 2022. Planning is now in full swing that aims at having a very successful Games in 2024.
A One Year to Go event was recently held on 20 January 2023 at the Multi-Arts Pavilion at Speers Point in Lake Macquarie. A new sponsor was announced – The Rehabilitation Specialists.
It is very pleasing to confirm that The Rehabilitation Specialists have agreed to become a platinum corporate sponsor with immediate effect. Managing Director Fiona Fonti stated “As a previous participant at the Australian Deaf Games and now working to support the Deaf and HoH community through allied health NDIS support and workplace support, I am so excited that my business, The Rehabilitation Specialists, is giving back to support an event that brings together the Deaf community.”
The Rehabilitation Specialists will be known as the “Games supporter of the volunteers and interpreters’ programs”.
Phil Harper, General Manager of Deaf Sport Australia welcomes the new support. “I applaud the commitment of all our sponsors, and we welcome The Rehabilitation Specialists to our Games ‘family’. Without sponsors, we would not be able to organize a major deaf sport and cultural event at this level.”
